"I think I am finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel!" Have you ever spoken this phrase?
I have. Many times.
Johnny got laid off from his job for 6 months. It has taken him two years to catch back up from the loss after he returned to work. He is finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Susie has suffered from major health issues for 5 years. Last year she finally found a doctor who discovered what the problem was and is getting the medication she needs. She is finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

We all have times in our lives that seem like desert wastelands. The trials seem to be never ending, going on for years! When will we see the light at the end of our tunnel?!
The reality of life though is that the vast majority of the time, that light at the end of our tunnel is actually A TRAIN heading straight for us! We are living in a sin filled world, suffering the consequences of sin. Sometimes it's our sin, sometimes it's others sin that we feel the effect of, and sometimes it's just the natural reality of sin in the world. Death, sickness, decay, and suffering are all a part of this temporary world. We shouldn't be surprised when the car breaks down. It's man made, it's going to break. We aren't shocked when there are plumbing issues at home. It's man made, it's going to break. Why is there so much sickness and death in the world? Sin. God created us perfect, but we chose to sin thereby bringing death, sickness, and suffering into our world.
It would be real depressing if this is where I left you, so here's some GOOD NEWS:
Jesus Christ IS THE LIGHT! If you have repented, believed, and put your faith in Jesus as your Savior, than you are ALREADY LIVING in the light at the end of the tunnel!
God has shown me, and continues to show me that I don't need to wait for the light at the end of my financial struggles, my job situations, my health problems. I am already walking in the light because I have Jesus Christ. I can get through any struggle because of the power of the Holy Spirit in my life.
Is it hard? YES! Will it ever end? One day. Not on this Earth.
Choose to focus on the LIGHT instead of your struggle. Yes, the struggle is real, but God is faithful! If you are still looking for the light at the end of your tunnel, I found it 30 years ago! It's JESUS! He has been teaching me to walk in His light ever since and He wants to give you this same light!
John 8:12; 1 John 1:9 - Jesus IS the light
Ephesians 5:8 - "For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!"
Psalm 56:13 - "For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light."
John 3:16 - "For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life."
